A Hint of Spring

It’s been a beautiful spring here in Phoenix.  We went  to a baseball game (go Dbacks!), went fishing on the lake, are enjoying lots of park time with friends, and even tried to fly kites!

Now it’s April.  Sad face.  In just a few short weeks it will be 100 degrees.  We will retreat into summer hibernation, dreaming of the day when we can get into our cars without passing out from the heat.  Or maybe that’s just me.  I’m kind of a heat wimp.

Anyway, I’ve been busy crafting, but not really for my home.  I have put together a few things for Spring, though, so I thought I’d share them with you here.

First up is my piano-top Spring Vignette.

I bought the flowers several years back at Michaels.  The bird and the eggs are also from Michael’s.  The bird was actually on Christmas clearance, but I figured you could use birds for lots of different things….  The basket was a sweet find at TJ Maxx.  It holds lots of different things throughout the seasons.

I also bought this cute bird plate at TJ Maxx.  I just thought it was sweet, especially the wavy edges.  It’s perfect to display for spring.  Do people really eat off dishes like this?  They had a whole set of dinnerware in this design.

My lone handmade project is this Spring Plaque and Wreath, inspired by this one at The House of Smiths.  Those little rosettes took forever, but I love how it turned out.

Finally, I picked up this sweet polka-dot pitcher vase at Michael’s on clearance.  I already had the tulips, but I think they’re from Michael’s too.  Can you tell I spend a lot of time at Michael’s?

Anyway, that’s just a glimpse into my home this spring.  I hope your spring is a lovely one, too!
