DIY Autograph Book with MyPrintly + Giveaway!

This post is part of a sponsored campaign with MyPrintly and MomSelect. All thoughts and opinions are my own

My kids go to an elementary school that sells yearbooks.  I really don’t see the point of a yearbook when you’re in elementary school, especially when you’re younger.  They sign t-shirts at class parties, they aren’t in any clubs or activities at school yet, so basically you’re paying for everyone else’s pictures.  Maybe that makes me a mean mom, but I’ve never been willing to shell out the money until my kids are older and a yearbook is more meaningful.

Then again, how often do you look at your high school yearbook?   Yeah, I don’t either.

Still, this year my daughter finally feels the pain of not having a yearbook when “every other kid” does.  There’s a yearbook-signing party after school gets out, and she doesn’t have one to bring.  So, I thought we’d make something she can bring instead.

First, we picked up a composition notebook at the store.  Then, I let her choose some coordinating scrapbook paper to cover the front.

Then, I used HP Photo Creations to make this cute collage of pictures from the school year and printed a 5×7 at home.

I loved using this program- you can create any design you want, and besides pictures, you can add text, graphics, or your own elements.

Finally, we added some stickers from the Heidi Swap goodies I got at SNAP.

I think it’s the perfect, frugal, age-appropriate alternative to a yearbook.
